MCCFP Programs

Locally

  1. The CCFPJC Education Committee is mandated to adapt a three-(3) year curriculum prepared by CCFP and which will address the educational needs of the family physician practicing in Jamaica.
  2. CCFPJC meet the CME requirements by
  3. hosting monthly workshops/seminars and/or
  4. an annual family medicine conference.

CCFPJC pursue the following CME activities:

  1. Monthly UWIDEC CME meetings which present a topic as per curriculum and a CME certificate is issued as necessary.
  2. MSC in Family Medicine programme UWI Mona
  3. Family Physicians Training Modules UWI Mona
  4. Tri-annual Pan-Caribbean Conference rotated through the Caribbean.

Online CME Courses

  1. Caribbean Family Physicians Knowledge Network (CFPKN)
  2. Training Modules for the nutritional management of hypertension, diabetes, obesity and HIV/AIDS in collaboration with CFNI
  3. Disease management guidelines for HIV/AIDS (WHO, PAHO, CAREC, CDC, PANCAP, HARP)
  4. Core curriculum in occupational health and safety (ACOEM, ICOH, ILO)
  5. Disability management guidelines (ACOEM, ICOH, ILO)
  6. Disease management guidelines for diabetes and hypertension in collaboration with PAHO and CHRC

International

  1. Triennial WONCA Conference
  2. Annual WONCA Regional Conferences
  3. CCFPJC is invited to submit appropriate peer-review articles at the above conferences
